What we believe
Here at the Church of St James and St John we live by the desire to follow God’s vision for our community.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Rev David Anderton
Church guv'nor. Lovely guy.
I have been a part of St James and St Johns since I was a teenager in 1994. I am now an Anglican Priest serving my curacy at St JJ and my amazing wife Sarah is currently training to become an Anglican vicar as well! J&J's is, and always will be, my home and my family… And you are all welcome too!
I have been a member of St James and Johns since the early 90's. I have twice been a church warden and my role is now Assistant Curate.
I’ve been Administrator since September 2012 and it’s the best job I’ve ever had, a real blessing, privilege & pleasure.
St James/St Johns is part of my family. It has been a place where I can be myself, share my joys and be supported in times of need. There is always someone to pray with you and encourage you. It really is home.
I grew up in the church and now attend with my family! We love the people and that they are of all ages. I’m so thankful to have this place and church family, they have been a constant in my life and I have the support around me that I need when I need it.
We were warmly welcomed into the J&J's family from day one. We have made friends for life, of whom we all share the same beliefs and values.
The church office is staffed Monday 9am to 1pm & Wednesday 9am to 1pm term time. During school holidays the office is staffed Wednesdays only, 9am till 5pm. If you believe you have left an item of personal property at either St James or St John’s Church or Halls please contact Verity in the Parish Office on Mondays or Wednesdays, and she will try and unite you with your missing item. Amen.
